Job Description
As a Solution Architect, you will translate new business needs and ICT changes into a future-state architecture while ensuring alignment with existing enterprise structures. You will work closely with Enterprise Architects, domain architects, and application architects to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Enterprise Architect to define the scope of transitions and ensure alignment with overall ICT strategy.
- Develop target architectures for transitions and maintain coherence within the IT landscape.
- Document architecture following best practices and applicable guidelines.
- Collaborate with domain architects to refine complex technical challenges.
- Communicate architectural solutions to Agile teams and ensure clarity for implementation.
- Identify and mitigate interface conflicts between transitions.
- Ensure sufficient level of detail for smooth implementation and future scalability.
Key Tasks
- Regularly coordinate with and coach Agile teams (including product owners, functional analysts, and application architects).
- Propose solution architecture topics to the Technical Architecture Board (TAB).
- Define and communicate target architecture to teams.
- Monitor implementation progress and make necessary adjustments.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 8+ years of experience as a specialist architect in at least one domain (networking, security, server infrastructure, application architecture, ERP, ECM, Datawarehouse, BI, etc.).
- Expertise in .NET applications or SAP Banking.
- Experience with VO (Flemish Government) building blocks in architectural solutions.
- Proficiency in Modeling techniques such as Archimate, Sparx Enterprise Architect, LeanIX, TOGAF, UML.
- Strong understanding of business processes and enterprise-wide IT landscapes.
- Deep knowledge of project management principles including cost estimation, timing, coordination, and planning.
- Expertise in at least one specialist domain (Infrastructure, Security, Data, Application, Process, etc.).
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and coordination abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Fluency in Dutch (CEFR Level C2).
