Operations Research Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Research Expert to join our Digital & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in optimization algorithms, AI-driven decision-making, and industrial-scale operations research projects. This role involves developing a holistic planning system, identifying optimization opportunities, and working closely with data scientists and various stakeholders to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimization algorithms to enhance business operations.
• Identify and assess optimization opportunities within complex systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists to build scalable, constraint-based planning systems.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
• Disseminate AI research results and best practices at industry events or through publications.
• Develop and implement GenAI applications using agentic reasoning, agentic planning, and advanced RAG.
• Manage multiple Operations Research projects from design to production.
• Utilize advanced optimization frameworks such as OR-tools, SciPy, Coin-OR, and Pyomo.
• Contribute to the overall strategy and roadmap for digital transformation and data-driven decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Operations Research for industrial applications.
• Proven experience in implementing at least three Operations Research projects in a production environment.
• Expertise in constraint programming workflows with advanced branching and cutting strategies.
• Strong knowledge of AI research, optimization frameworks, and scalable algorithms.
• Experience in developing and applying GenAI technologies.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in Dutch (CEFR Level C2) is mandatory.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of process engineering, Lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of business processes and project management.
• Experience in the nautical chain or logistics sector is a plus.
